we ought to be “giving all diligence.” Before important decisions are made or property is exchanged in the business world, it is incumbent upon those in positions of authority to do what is commonly called “due diligence.” To give due diligence is to pay close attention to the matter at hand. Peter uses that word to call us to a posture of diligence as we look into the things of God. Our approach to learning of God is not to be done in a frivolous, capricious, or cavalier manner.
